In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. In the recipe below I list 2 optional ingredients that I use if making this in my Casserole Crock Pot. Spray a large 9 x 13-inch dish with cooking spray. Plus there is some corn mixed in for an all in one. One of the things I love love love about it is the ability to pop the casserole portion under the broiler to brown the top of dishes. This crockpot mac and cheese is made right in the slow cooker, there is no boiling the noodles first. Let me just say if you haven’t made mac and cheese in the slow cooker before, trust me it’s EASY! All you do is boil the noodles for 3 minutes, that’s all the prep you have, nothing complicated about that, right? This recipe will work well in any slow cooker, I normally use my 6 quart, but…since Santa was extra nice this year and brought me a brand spanking new CASSEROLE CROCK POT (yes, that’s a THING) I now use that. At my house my crowd is my own family, if everyone here that’s a crowd. Repeat the layers using the remaining macaroni, remaining cheese, remaining butter, and remaining salt. Add into slow cooker: noodles, milk, butter, shredded cheddar, Velveeta and ham. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle with half of the cheese, dot with half of the butter, and sprinkle with half of the salt. Boil macaroni noodles 3 minutes and drain. Add ground beef to the frying pan and cook until browned (thoroughly cooked). Spread half of the pasta in the bottom of the dish. Add Italian seasoning, minced garlic, pepper and salt to the frying pan. What I enjoy about this recipe is that you can easily make this for a crowd. In a large oversized frying pan over medium heat, cook onion with olive oil until onions are clear and light brown. This year I decided to tweak it just a bit and prepare this in my slow cooker, because you know…I love my slow cookers! Oh yes I do! Last year about this time I shared with you my Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Ham, a delicious casserole filled with cheesy goodness and a great way to use up leftover ham. But I’m not crazy about eating the same thing day in and day out. Now that’s not to say I don’t enjoy ham, I personally love it. Mac Casserole, Crock Pot Chili Mac Casserole, Crock Pot Taco Macaroni Casserole. 10 ounces Spinach, (you can substitute kale, turnip greens, or any other green leafy vegetable. If your house is anything like mine, by day 2 or 3 of eating leftover ham you’re ready for something different. 16 ounces Bowtie pasta (cooked) (you can substitute egg noodles or broken lasagna noodles) 1 ½ pound lean ground beef. What does Easter usually leave behind though? Ham, and plenty of it.
